The students of DPS, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Noida have performed exceptionally well in the class X and XII CBSE boards.

Class XII students’ performance is commendable as the result is 100% across all streams. All the top three scorers are from Humanities: Shaon Chatterjee with 97.6%, followed by Jigyasa Sahay with 96.4% and Anisha Gupta with 96.2%. The Science stream topper is Shubham Kumar Jha who scored 95.2% and Commerce stream topper is Unaiz Shehzad with 94.4%.

Shaon Chatterjee and Anisha Gupta have scored 100% in Political Science.

The two days of DPS National Squash Championship Boys (2018) witnessed displays of grit, skill and determination in the squash courts as DPS, GBN hosted this national level event on July 27 & 28, 2018. The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms Sachika Ingale, National Squash Player, as the Chief Guest while Dr D R Saini, Director DPS, Society joined as the Guest of Honour.

Squash players from eight Delhi Public Schools are competing in the DPS National Squash Championship Boys (2018) over a two day tournament being held at DPS, GBN on July 27 & 28, 2018. The Inaugural Ceremony was graced by the presence of Ms Sachika Ingale, National Squash Player, as the Chief Guest while Dr D R Saini, Director DPS, Society joined as the Guest of Honour.

In order to make our young learners aware of different types of pollution and solution to the same, a special week on 'Pollution Patrol' was observed by the scholars of grade Prep from July 16 - 20, 2018. The week included a plethora of activities viz. puppet show, poster making, craft making, PowerPoint presentation and worksheet on pollution. The week concluded with the rally taken out by the young scholars emphasizing the importance of clean and pollution-free environment.

To brush off the furious summer sun, Pre primary wing of DPS, GBN organized “Fun and Frolic Day” on Friday, July 13, 2018. Our tiny tots wore colourful swimming costumes and hopped in the splash pool. Their eyes were gleaming with joy as they danced on their favourite music in the rain. The rain dance was indeed a magnificent way to beat the scorching heat.

Summer vacation is the time for children to take time off from their regular chores of going to school and studying the curriculum. These vacations present a golden opportunity for the students to hone different life skills, while having fun.

DPS, GBN organised a two day Career Fair to provide much needed guidance and support to the students of senior school at the threshold of choosing their careers on May 24 and 25, 2018,  in the school's Tagore Auditorium.  Both the days began with motivational presentations on career guidance followed by sessions on different careers conducted by leading professionals in the field. 

Our students participated in the Inter School Swimming Competition organized at GD Goenka School, Greater Noida from May 1 to 3, 2018.
We are proud to share that Vrishti Arora of class V won the 3 rd position in the 25 m Butterfly Stroke event. Around 15 schools and 120 students participated in this competition.

The students of classes VIII to X took part in the ‘Avni Avenues- The Earth Day Celebrations’ Competition held at DPS Greater Noida on May 9, 2018 and staked a claim on the first prize. It was an integrated presentation of the choir as well as the dance team as they performed on the prescribed themes and were judged on the basis of introduction, relevance to theme, creativity, rhythm, melody, harmony, synchronisation and overall presentation.

German Students of DPS, GBN, Noida (classes IV-X) participated in the 10th Namaste Deutschland Event organised by Goethe Institut Delhi in Genesis Global on April 2, 2018, and brought home many awards. The students won in the following events-
Exhibition Stall (Topic: Luftqualität in die Städten): Sarinah Mansoor (VIII), Aliya (VIII), Ayesha Hassan (VIII), Vedant Kohli (X), Paavani Singh (X) & Vaibhav Seth (VIII). The efforts of these students got them the first prize.

We feel delighted to inform you that Saanvi Srivastava of Class Prep G bagged Second Position in Bouquet of Joy (flower making competition) held in Apeejay School, Noida on November 29, 2017.

The students of classes VI to XII of DPS, GBN watched the honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi address the gathering of students and teachers from all over the nation on Friday, February 16, 2018 via DD National’s live webcast.

The workshop on “Positive Parenting and Creating a positive Learning Environment for the child” with main focus on “Digital Exposure in today’s lifestyle” was appreciated by the parents for its path breaking approach and positive impact. It was conducted on Saturday, February 10, 2018, by a renowned Counsellor and Career Guide Ms Jyotsana Bharadwaj. She shared her experiences and techniques of Positive Parenting. She guided the parents on how to handle challenging situations with children and create a ubiquitous learning environment for them.

Intra-school Model United Nations was organized on January 24, 2018 with the participation of 57 students from classes VI to IX and XI. The participants were divided into two committees: i.e UNHRC, AIPPM. The young delegates adapted to their roles very well and had come prepared with the agendas given to them.

Delhi Public School, Gautam Buddh Nagar was acknowledged for its ceaseless efforts towards quality education at the Global Millennial Conference, Dubai on January 27, 2018 organised by BITS Pilani, Dubai Campus. The school was awarded with the Global Innovative School Award 2018 for exemplary performance in Academics, Use of Technology, Cultural Inclusion and Social Awareness. The award was accepted by Principal, Ms Indira Kohli and Headmistress, Senior School, Ms Bhawna Khanna at the elaborate ceremony held in Dubai. This recognition has strengthened the school’s resolve towards providing the best possible education and learning experiences for the students in our care.

We congratulate Kushagra Raghuvanshi of class IX A for successfully clearing the Level 2 of the SMTE (Science and Maths Talent Examination) conducted by the DPS Society. This exam was a pan India test which tested the student’s capability in the Science and Maths subjects.
He is among the top 120 students selected from other Delhi Public Schools around the nation. He will now attend a higher level 6 day Enrichment Program at the HRD Centre of the DPS Society at Dwarka Campus, New Delhi in May 2018.

Table tennis players of the school have achieved a great victory. The team took part in Inter School State Table Tennis Championship held at HRIT Campus Ghaziabad on August 29 to September 1, 2017 and Madhav Bhatia of Class VIII won the Bronze medal in Individual category.

It was a battle of sharp intellect at the ANNUAL INTER-DPS NATIONAL SCIENCE FESTIVAL -2017 held at DPS Expressway, GBN on Dec 23, 2017.

Inter School Japanese Language festival “Nihon no Kaori” was conducted by DPS RK Puram on December 6, 2017 and the students of DPS, GBN participated actively in both off site and on site events. It was a moment of pride for the school to be awarded the first prize in Offsite event- Invitation Card Making in recognition of the commendable efforts made by Amay Aggarwal and Harshita Gautam of class VI D. Congratulations to the winners!

The benefits of a fit and healthy body are known to everyone and the perfect time to adopt healthy living practices is right from an an early age. To imbibe these practices among the kids, DPS, GBN organised “Fitness Week” from November 27- November 30, 2017. The children learned about the importance of being healthy by indulging in different activities like yoga, zumba, races, fitness talk. A big pat on the back to every Dipsite for completing the ‘Fitness Week’ activities with great zeal and enthusiasm!

Blessed are the young who can give back life with their blood— Donate blood, save a life. A Blood Donation Camp was organised by Interact Club, DPS, GBN in association with Rotary Club of Noida on Saturday, December 11, 2017, in the school premises. Rotary Club had arranged for a blood donation Van to be stationed at the school for collecting the blood from donors. A team of expert doctors and other staff supervised the donation process.

We are proud to share that Principal Ms Indira Kohli has been awarded with the prestigious ‘Uttarakhand Ratan Award’ at the All India Principals and Teachers Conference 2017, organized by the National Executive Committee of the Principals Progressive Schools’ Association. She was awarded in a grand ceremony held at Dehradun on Saturday, December 16, 2017. This award is in recognition of her success as the Founder Principal of DPS, GBN and her experience of 30 years as an educationist. Heartiest congratulations to Ma’am!

t was an exciting experience for the students of classes I and II to participate in Dharohar,2017 organised by The Millennium School on November 8, 2017. The young environment conservation brigade participated in Best out of waste (themed Friends with Nature) and bagged First Prize in the competition. Students of classes I and II participated in Rendezvous Cornucopia held at Sarvottam International School on November 6 and 7, 2017 and won rewards and appreciation. On November 6, Shubhronil Guha of class I and Riddhima Ray of class II won the first prize in Junior Master Chef while  Darsh and Hiten of class II won the third prize in the Spell Bee Competition. Our winning streak continued on November 7 as Aakarsh Thukhral of class II bagged third prize in Choco Land - A Dream World (English creative writing).

Students of our school have bagged another laurel at the Yuva Sampadak 2016 competition organised by the leading daily Dainik Jagran. Palash Yash of class IX and Lashiya Kashyap of class VIII were acknowledged for their flair in the field of editing. Khushi Chauhan of class IV won the 2nd prize in the Sports Day Painting Competition organised by the newspaper. The winners were felicitated in a grand ceremony organised at Constitution Club, Rafi Marg, New Delhi on November 6, 2017.

Kovid Lakhera and Yash Agarwal of class X secured first rank in "Innovative Model Exhibition" organised by Regional Science and Technology Center, Ghaziabad at Shiv Nadar School, Noida on November 02, 2017. Our young innovators created an ‘Air Purifier,’ which is a much needed device in today’s polluted environment.  Their innovation was pitted against leading schools of Delhi-NCR, but their model along with their confident explanation of its functioning was successful in securing them a winning trophy. They were awarded with the first position and brought home a trophy along with a certificate.

It was a learning experience for the athletes of DPS, GBN to participate in the CBSE Cluster Athletics Meet 2017 held at Blue Bird International School Mandi Amroha, Uttar Pradesh from Oct. 31 - Nov. 2, 2017. Around 57 schools participated in this meet.

The skaters of DPS, GBN participated in the CBSE North Zone - I Skating Championship 2017 held at Delhi Public School Meerut, Baghpat Road, Meerut City, from Oct. 24 – 26, 2017.

Arabd Gairola of class I – C exhibited his skills in the sport and won the Bronze medal in inline 1000 meters event (under 10 years boys category). Around 102 schools participated in this meet.

 

Ranveer Ahluwalia of class X performed exceptionally well in the NGSE Mains and Advanced 2017 and received a Gold medal & Merit certificate for his score. He scored 98.4205 and 76.0163 percentile in the Mains and the Advanced exams respectively. Delhi Public School, GBN, Noida has proudly joined the Energy Saving Campaign which has been initiated by the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Development Agency (UP NEDA). The campaign’s aim is to motivate schools to adopt energy efficient equipments & practices, as well as to inculcate healthy energy usage behaviour which is sustainable.

Our students participated in Hindi Olympiad organised by Hindi Vikas Sansthan on August 25, 2017.You would be glad to know that two students have been felicitated with the highly prestigious Hindi Pratibha Samman which is a National Level Award for their outstanding performance at national level. Young Dipsites of Nursery bid farewell to the month of July by celebrating 'Mango Mania Week' from July 24,2017 to July 28,2017. The week kick started by showcasing different varieties of mangoes.  Children enjoyed the exhibition of different Mango products wherein, Frooti, mango pickle, mango shake, mango cake, mango ice cream, mango juice and so many other delicious mango preparations were on the shelf for display. Teachers briefed the kids about the colour, shape, taste and benefits of mango.

Class III students performed a play ‘Tarangini- A Saga of Rivers’ in the school’s Tagore Auditorium on August 18 & 19, 2017. The play aimed at spreading the message that water is the most essential element in life and does not create disparity on the basis of gender, religion, caste or creed. The students’ dance performances focused on saving the water bodies as they are depleting at an alarming rate. The event on August 18, 2017 was graced by Ms. Ashima Sachdeva, Principal of Maple Bear School, Sector 48, Noida as the Chief Guest. Ms.

Students of Classes XI and XII went on a visit to the President’s House on Saturday, August 19, 2017 accompanied by their teachers. Students got the once in a lifetime opportunity to explore the remarkable abode and learn about its history and inception.

Aman Sharma  played "BEACHON JAIPUR CUP (International Rated Tournament)" in Jaipur, from 12th August to 16th August and got the second position in Under 13 category and also increased his 53 International Rating Points. His current international rating is 1527 ELO.

Ms Indira Kohli Honoured with the Great Asia Women Achievers Award 2017.
We are proud to share that Principal Ms Indira Kohli was awarded with the Great Asia Women Achievers Award -2017, organised by the Bhartiya Cultural Social Development Association at the India Islamic Centre, Lodhi Road on August 12, 2017.
Ms Kohli has been conferred this honour in recognition of her significant achievements as an educationist par excellence over the past three decades. Ms Kohli was one among other awardees of repute including Ms Deepa Malik, Para Olympic player.

The talented dancers of DPS, GBN were placed third in the Inter DPS Dance Festival- Nrityanjali organised for classes VI to XII by DPS Faridabad on Aug 5, 2017. The students performed Kathak on the stage and outshone the dancers from 24 other schools. Eight students from our school performed on the concept ‘JAGRITI’ which was novel and had a deep underlying message .The scintillating performance of our young dancers was much appreciated.

Delhi Public School, GBN was bestowed with an extremely prestigious opportunity to showcase the talent of the school band ‘Crescendo’ at “Dr. A.P.J.Abdul Kalam 2nd Year Remembrance Memorial 2017” held at Rameshwaram, Tamil Nadu from July 20-27, 2017.

The senior school choir of DPS, GBN has won the 3rd prize in the Inter DPS Hindustani Vocal Music Festival “Swaranjali-2017” organized by the DPS Society and held at DPS Dwarka on July 15, 2017.

It was a zonal level event which saw the participation of 22 Delhi Public Schools from across the country. Our choir was adjudged among the top three in the group song event titled: Love for Motherland.

Our students went to Theodor Heuss Gymnasium, Ludwighafen, Germany under a student exchange programme from June 1 to June 19, 2017. The students were placed with host families and were involved in the School’s activities from June 2 itself. They went for a short trip to the picturesque town of Heidelberg, where they were awed by the Heidelberg Schloss (castle). At the school, Dipsites were given their time table and attended German, English and Music lessons which were very interesting. Their trip to Speyer gave them the opportunity to explore the Imperial Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption and St Stephen. They also visited the Schloss Hof palace and learnt about history of Germany.

Rapunzel, Doraemon, Mickey and Minnie, all were there to celebrate Fun & Frolic Day with our Tiny Tots of Nursery on May 19, 2017. Our young Dipsites dressed up in their favourite cartoon character attire entered the ‘Castle of Dreams’, where they were offered a dose of refreshment and relaxation.  A beautiful and lively setup was made with a display of cartoon characters which delighted the children to no end. Kids had a roller coaster ride in Games Zone, Dance Floor, Tattoo Room and Puppet Show. Exchanging their loving goodbyes with each other, they promised to come back after the summer break with many stories to tell.

The School celebrated International Yoga Day on May 30, 2017. The students of classes I to XII participated in the event. Various yoga postures and asanas including pranayam and meditation were performed before the students. The students were also enlightened on the benefits of yoga, yogic exercises, recharging the body with cosmic energy and promoting the self-healing process. Students were made to understand how Yoga helps in attaining focus and concentration as it is especially important for them. Students were very excited to learn how to remain healthy and energetic and enjoyed the Yoga session a lot.

Students of classes X and XI got the opportunity of a lifetime to visit the Rashtrapati Bhawan on May 19, 2017 through Expressions India as a part of the Mindsmart Series – 2017. The five fortunate students – Shreyansh Kansal Gupta (XI-A), Amarpal Singh (XI-A), Fiza Khan(XI-A), Shreya Deshpande (X-A), Aditi Singh (X-A) chosen were a part of an initiative taken by the government to make students more aware of the Rashtrapati Bhawan Museum which has a rich collection of the culture and history of India. The trip comprised of a guided tour of the museum where students were informed about the architecture of the Rashtrapati Bhawan.

DPS GBN, Noida, organised a two day Career Fair on May 12 and 13, 2017. The Fair was the first of its kind conducted by the School for the benefit of the students of classes IX to XII who are at a crucial stage in their academic lives. The students attended talks and sessions by experts from various fields to help them choose the right career path. The young aspirants were exposed to information on a number of professions ranging from engineering, media, IT, medical, legal, defence, biotechnology, entrepreneurship and hospitality. The students found the Fair to be extremely useful and motivating.

The students from our School participated in the IIMUN (India International Model United Nations) held at Billabong High International School, Noida from May 4- 6, 2017. The students performed very well and won laurels for the school. Ayush Ranjan of Class X was adjudged - The Best Delegate. He participated in the LokSabha Committee and the agenda was – ADDRESSING THE ATROCITIES AGAINST DALITS. Shlok Sanyal of Class X was credited with Verbal mention. Delhi Public School, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Noida successfully participated in the ‘Mega School Earthquake Evacuation Drill’ conducted under the guidance of the Disaster Management Cell, Noida on April 27, 2017 from 11 am to 12 noon. We are among the 101 Schools across Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway of Gautam Buddh Nagar district, which participated in this massive awareness drive. 700 students and 70 teachers and staff of classes VI-XII participated in the event.

Our School participated in the Open Inter School Aquatic Championship 2017-18 hosted by GD Goenka Public School, Greater Noida on April 27 - 28, 2017.  Around 21 schools from Delhi- NCR participated in this meet and Abhimanyu Ganguli of class VII-D made DPS, GBN proud by winning the Silver Medal in the Back Stroke Event and Ananya Singh of Class X-C won Bronze in 50m Free Style.

Little Angels of Delhi Public School, Gautam Buddha Nagar along with the teachers celebrated Earth Day on April 22, 2017 with much enthusiasm. The aim was to sensitize the students towards their role in addressing global environmental challenges at grass root level.

The tiny tots collectively participated in doing the beautiful craft work based on Earth Day. Role plays on how Mother Earth can be saved from global warming were enacted. To mark this day and to emphasize upon the need to save trees, all the Nursery children were involved in speaking slogans like ‘Save Earth’ and ‘Go Green’.

An initiative taken by the Indian Cancer Society witnessed a huge participation of students from the schools of Delhi NCR. Seven students from DPS, GBN: Harprateek, Aditya Bhatt, Jigyasa Sahay (class XII), Kulkeerat Zandu, Katyayni Kashyap, Meher Gandhi and Deepanshi Kamboj (class XI) participated in the Hindi Skit on April 21, 2017, organised at the Navy Children School Chanakyapuri , on the given theme of : Tobacco- a threat to development. Self defence is not just a set of techniques, it’s a state of mind and it begins with the belief that you are worth defending. A workshop on Right to Safety was conducted in DPS,GBN on April 21,2017. The resource person, Mr. Rajesh Gupta, is an entrepreneur in mixed martial arts and has been teaching this skill to women, as a part of his Right to Safety Programme, Shaktipunj.

The Pre-School wing of Delhi Public School, GBN, Noida organized its 2nd Sports Day on March 24, 2017. The Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Reva Nayyar , Member School Managing Committee and our parents: Ms. Richa Satsangi & Mr. Maneesh Gaurav and Ms. Ridhi Sharma & Mr. Antriksh Sharma. The theme of the event was Primary Colours- where the students were divided into Team Red, Yellow, Green and Blue. The event was made special with a dance performance by girls on the classic Boney M song “Brown Girl in the Ring” whereas boys performed rhymes on the primary colours. It was endearing to see Pre-School children anchoring an entire event.

DPS-GBN  celebrated the Graduation Ceremony of class Prep students on March 3 and 4, 2017 at the Tagore Auditorium with great fervour and gaiety. The Auditorium was packed to the capacity with the parents and special invitees.The Chief Guest of the event was Ms. Shubhra Banerjee, Incharge Shiksha Kendra, DPS, Gurgaon on March 3, 2017 with Ms. Geeta Shankar and Ms. Mona Sharma, eminent educationists as our Guests of Honour. Students of classes III to V of Delhi Public School, Gautam Buddh Nagar, Noida celebrated the unique historical, cultural and social fabric of our nation in the Incredible India – Republic Day Celebrations held on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the School Amphitheatre. The event was graced by Dr. Sudipta Ghose, Member, School Managing Committee as the Chief Guest, Ms. Anita Gurnani, Founder of NGO Titliyan was present as an esteemed guest, while Ms. Reva Nayyar, Member, School Managing Committee presided over the event. Other eminent guests and Parent Reps were also present.

The NGSE Mains Exam – 2017, was conducted in the school on December 3, 2016 . Nineteen students participated across classes IV – X. Two students have qualified for the NGSE Advanced 2017 Exam that is scheduled on February 26, 2017.

The School achieved yet another milestone by successfully organizing the first Intra School MUN (Model United Nations) on January 18, 2017. The students were enthralled to be a part of an extravagant platform for debating international issues, drafting resolutions to combat issues, and to socialize.

The students of classes VIII and IX participated in the Generation Global Video Conference (earlier Face to Faith) held on January 11, 2017, on the topic ‘Wealth, Charity and Poverty’.

The Participating Schools were Pioneers Public HS (Pakistan), Delhi Public School GBN (India) and Oleksandria School #9, Ukraine. However, Oleksandria School #9 could not join the VC due to technical issues.

The School’s Nursery Wing reverberated with the melody of Christmas carols on December 22 as the little ones organised a Christmas Special Assembly that day. A play was enacted explaining the importance of the festival which was followed by the rendition of a Christmas song. On watching their own friends in the play, our little ones could relate to it and understand it better. The beautiful assembly became energised when Santa visited the students and had fun with them. These activities taught our little ones the joy of celebrating all the festivals with loved ones.

Our tiny tots were enthralled to watch their favourite characters come alive during the puppet show organised for them showcasing the timeless classic- The Shoemaker and the Elves on December 29, 2016. The students of class Nursery were in for a special treat with this puppet show which captured their attention and opened doors to their imagination. Since time immemorial puppetry has proven itself to be a powerful medium of storytelling which not only leaves an impact on the students but also strengthens their language skills. Puppets changed the entire classroom by creating more possibilities for creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, and curiosity.

Delhi Public School, GBN celebrated its second Founder’s Day on November 24, 26 & 27, 2016. The three day event witnessed the presence of eminent dignitaries. The Chief Guest on November 24, 2016 was Mr. Ramanuj Singh, City Magistrate of Noida. Along with other distinguished dignitaries, Mr. Munesh Kumar, DIOS, Gautam Buddh Nagar also graced the occasion. The event of November 26, 2016 was presided by Mr. Ravi Vira Gupta, Chairman, School Managing Committee, along with Mr. Vineet Nayyar, the Pro Vice Chairperson of the School Managing Committee and Ms. Reva Nayyar, Member School Managing Committee. On November 27, 2016 the portals of the School was blessed by the presence of Mr.

Kalantar 2016 – was a mega art event, held on October 23, 2016 at Mahamaya Balika Inter College, Sector 44. There was an onsite participation of 2000 students, based on topic given on the spot. 38 students participated from our school, and three teachers accompanied them. The athletics team from DPS, GBN performed really well in the 2 nd Youth National Games for Boys and Girls was organized by Uttarakhand Athletics Association at the Bhalla Stadium (Haridwar) from October 7 - October 9, 2016. Around 2000 students participated in this Youth National Games. The achievers are:

Abhay from class 11 th bagged silver medal for shotput and bronze medal for discuss.

Harprateek from class 11 th bagged bronze medal for 1500m.

Samarth from class 8 th reached finals and got 4 th position in 100m.

Anubhav from class 11 th reached finals and gave best performance.

With the above mentioned thought, the students of DPS-GBN were sensitized and motivated to face the challenges and solutions to the issues of Environmental protection and sustainable lifestyle. Our school participated in ‘An Annual Inter DPS Science and Environment Festival’ on 15thand 16th October 2016 (Saturday and Sunday) organized and hosted by ‘DPS Moradabad’.

DPS, GBN warmly welcomes the 8 students from Germany for the first ever student exchange programme! The students have come from Theodor-Heuss- Gymnasium, Ludwigshafen school along with three teachers. They will get a chance to learn and explore India and its culture- and DPS, GBN will become a facilitator in their memorable journey.

The students of class II of Delhi Public School, Gautam Buddh Nagar extended the Teachers’ Day celebrations on a grand scale by performing a musical skit on the iconic movie, The Sound of Music by adding their
own flavour and by drawing parallels between the dedication of their loving teachers and the commitment exhibited by the protagonist Ms.Maria into teaching music to the Von Trapp children. They paid a unique tribute to their teachers by focusing on the hard work they put together in order to change each student’s life.

DPS, GBN has added another feather to its cap by being ranked as the Second Amongst Emerging High Potential Schools across India. This prestigious honour was conferred upon the School at the Education World Grand Jury Awards 2016, organised by EduComp's Education World India School Rankings 2016, on Friday, September 23, 2016 in Gurgaon.

We thank the student and the parent community for their continued support and encouragement which provides us the impetus to charge ahead towards our goals.

Our champions moved ahead with victory. DPS-GBN Sub-Junior Boys Team outshone Indus Valley School by a score of 3-0 in quarter final on 22nd August 2016 in District Table Tennis School Championship.

Our champion even outshone DPS Noida by 3-0 in the Semi-Finals and gave a cut throat competition to Sapphire International School and won a Gold Medal in finals by a score of 3-1.

Our Junior Team of DPS-GBN were conferred with a Silver Medal in District Table Tennis School Championship in same event.

7 students were selected to compete at the State level.

 

DPS-GBN conducted an ‘Oral Hygiene Week’, organized by Odon Dental Care, from 22nd – 24th August, 2016. The week commenced with an enlightening workshop for the students and teachers of classes III – V on ‘Dental Care and Hygiene’ conducted by Dr. Seema Bhayana. The workshop was followed by a dental check-up of all the students. The dentists gave a personalized feedback to each student about their dental health. Alongside, competitions like ‘Most Dazzling Smile’, ‘Poster Making Competition on Importance of Oral or Dental Hygiene’ and ‘Slogan Writing Competition on Importance of Oral Health’ were also organized for the celebration of the Oral Hygiene Week.

DPS, GBN celebrated the 70 th Independence Day in a solemn yet spirited manner. The function was presided by the Chief Guest, Flight Lieutenant J.P. Sharma along with Ms. Sudesh Sharma, Parents of
Shahid Captain Shashikant Sharma- the Hero of the Siachen ,who laid his life in the Kargil war. The day began with the hoisting of the Indian Flag followed by the rendition of the patriotic songs by the School Choir.

Four teachers along with 45 students went to Nainital for an adventurous trip from 26.05.16 to 30.05.16. Everyone stayed in tents and learnt to live in harmony and support. All the students did morning exercises everyday with the instructions given by their mentors.

The Amateur Crossword Enthusiasts of DPS GBN , Hardik Kharbanda and Yash Agrawal, both from Class IX became the Runners-up in the City round of the CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest 2016 on 29th April 2016. It was held at Army Public School Noida with more than 25 Schools participating in the event.

D.P.S GBN participated in the quiz which was organized by the British Council to mark the 400th Death anniversary of the Great Bard ‘ William Shakespeare’.  Over 50 schools from all over India took part in it. There was a preliminary round from which the top six schools were chosen. Thereafter it was a battle of wits where the six finalists were asked questions on his life and works. They were in the form of dialogues from his plays  and the clues were anagrams of the answers . We are proud to share that the team consisting of Yash Agrawal and Kovid Lakhera , both from Class IX , emerged as the 1st Runners up !

In an Education Summit organised by Brainfeed, a monthly educational Initiative, Delhi Public School, GBN was awarded with the School Excellence Award. In the 3rd National Conference held at Le'Meridian, New Delhi, a galaxy of star schools, across India and Middle East, were awarded with this prestigious award. 4th of February 2016 was a big day in the history of DPS, GBN. The students of the Primary Section have outshone 25 schools in the NCR in an Inter-school Painting Competition organised by NIE on 29th Jan 2016 at Shri Ram Millenium school, Noida.The Second position was won by Stuti and the First position was bagged by Chanchal. Nayanika was given a Consolation prize. They are all from Class 4.

Over 200 teams from 35 schools took part in the Noida City Bournvita Quiz contest. Our team of Yash Agrawal and Kovid Lakhera , both from Class 8 were adjudged the 2nd Runners-Up. There were several rounds consisting of questions related to India , World , Sports , Audio and Video clips.It was a nail biting buzzer round in the end , in which we came third in the city. A special mention must be made about Anmol Khetan , the Class 7th student , who went to help our team in one of the rounds and ended up getting 20 points for the team.

We are proud to announce that we are the only school from India ( and one of the five from the world )who have been chosen to be the co-creaters in the making of the Face to Faith Website. The students who were part of this were Sanjana Goswami , Gauri Madaan , Jigyasa Sahay , Yash Agrawal , Yashna Sethi and Kovid Lakhera. The head of Education of Face to Faith Foundation , Dr Ian Jamison has sent the gold medals as a token of appreciation for the creative and technical inputs put in by our students. The Other 4 countries chosen were UK, USA, Jordan and Indonesia.

With over 75 schools and 5500 students , it was a mammoth congregation of students. The event in Delhi was part of the 35 city and 5 continent event. Out of 150 Quiz teams , our school team of Yashashri Sood and Nikhil Vinod of Class IX , were the final five finalists. In the Wiz kids event , out of 250 participants, one of our Student , Gauri Madaan of Class X reached the final eight. Our school also won the Best Teacher Coordinator award

A proud moment for DPS GBN..Shreyansh K Gupta of class 9 has secured the first position in the third and final round of Spell Bee organised by Hope Foundation. He outshone the finalists of the rest of the three zones i.e eastern,western and,southern. Shreyansh was awarded with a cash prize of 25,000, a certificate, a medal and a trophy. The jury comprising of 8 members highly spoke about the diction and pronunciation of the boys. Kabeer Guliani, was also ranked 6th in the contest...Kudos to our Champions!

Madhav Bhatia of class V D got the first rank in District TT Tournament held on 12th July, 2014, the event was held at Noida Stadium. He secured the 8th State Rank in the event held on 26 July in Barilley.

Our quiz team added a feather in our cap when they out shone twelve neighbouring teams in an school Inter School Quiz Competition organised at Jaypee Public School on 22nd August.
Our team comprised of one student each from classes VI – VIII. Mihir Agarwal of class VI Manya Gupta of class VII and Shreyansh Gupta of class VIII bagged the second place.

Building the national character is the biggest challenge facing our nation today. This is what the students of Delhi Public School, GBN realised and vowed to do after listening to PM Narendra Modi's speech on the occasion of Teacher's Day. The students stayed back in the school with all the teachers as special arrangements were made for everyone to listen to the PM's speech together. An essay competition was held among the students where they put forward their views on topics like 'Should Vocational Training Be Made A Part Of School Curriculum', 'Education Of The Girl Child' and "Digital India".
