Delhi Public School, GBN, Noida successfully organised its first ever foreign student exchange program from October 3 to 20, 2016 by playing host to eight students and three teachers from Germany. The student delegation was from?Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium, Ludwighafen?led by three teachers- Ms. Maja Bard, Mr. Andreas Willeke and Ms. Jana Hadlich.
The German students stayed with the families of their designated buddy students from DPS, GBN. It was an enriching experience for them to live with an Indian family and get a chance to closely observe the familial set up here.
The young Germans were soon engaged in?various school activities?like dance, yoga, aerobics, sculpture, glass painting, instrumental music, swimming, squash, table tennis and others.
They went on a trip to?Agra?and visited the Taj Mahal. As expected, they were awed by the beauty of the monument. The?trip to Jaipur and Abhaneri?was packed with sightseeing, shopping and sampling of delicious Indian cuisine.
The young tourists were enthralled with the beauty of our nation and the richness of our culture.
The most memorable part of their stay was the?farewell assembly?which was a representation of the amalgamation of Indian- German culture, as both German and Indian students participated in an array of cultural events.?Ms. Indira Kohli, Principal, DPS, GBN?appreciated the enthusiasm displayed by the German students and looked forward to further such exchange programmes between the two schools.
